We happened to be staying at the hotel (Westin) where this steak house was located so it was just convenient for us to grab dinner there. The hostess that was seating us acted like we were bothering her (that should have been our first clue to RUN). We chose to sit outside (watch out for the birds). There were eight of us in our party. The waiter recommended that we try a "sampler" platter of the hot appetizers. The "sampler" platter was not a "sampler" platter at all but 7 full sized orders of their appetizers (2 barbeque shrimp platters which were dry, 3 lump crab cake platters and 2 calamari platters which were especially good with the dipping sauce). So, not even to our dinner yet and we are already over $100 on our tab. Half of our table ordered the salad. I, myself, did not so I can't comment on it. For dinner, we each ordered an entree and two sides (the entrees do not come with any sides and the sides supposedly serve only 2). I firmly believe that the waiter we had should have warned us that we were ordering more food than we could handle. Instead he said something like the food will shift in our stomach. By the time our entrees arrived (almost 1.5 hours later), we were full. Our entrees were only half eaten and most of the sides were never even touched. Those side dishes really serve more like 4 people. In the end, there was a lot of food wasted. We couldn't take a doggie bag home since we were staying at a hotel. The service was crappy (bread basket was taken from us before we were through with it, dinner was over 2 hours from start to finish, we waited FOREVER for drink refills and had to ask many times for more rather than the waiter asking, settling our bill alone took over 20 minutes....I could go on but you get the point). To add insult to injury, the gratuity was already included in the bill to the tune of $115. Our total bill was $788 for eight of us and we expected more for that money.

Great view Nice Interior Steaks are good, but not worth the price !!!!! Steaks where not cooked, as ordered. Bartender very friendly, ( friendly crew ) But could not get orders right.( Saturday evening not very busy ) Bar is not up to high standart.Bad mixes!!!!!( I know I grew up in the business ) Shula's other locations are up to it. This one feels, a little like a rip off.( this is not about money, just the value) Will go back to the Miami Lakes location

Ok, first off, the negative review given on the site regarding the restaurant, actually spurred me to go here. Something about a huge prime rib. While we are giving height and weight measurements, I am 6'2" and about 205, so a big steak is always good. Now, Shula's is not the greatest of all time, but probably the best on this little strip and it was way above average. I don't want to knock the review before mine, and maybe the menu has changed, but the menu states the prime rib is a 32 oz. piece of meat. If this doesn't sound like something that will hang off the plate, I don't know what does. Of course, the meat doesn't actually hang off the plate, but it is about 2" thick. The taste was excellent. I didn't get hash browns because Denny's probably does make better hash browns since that is where hash browns belong. I did get the mozerella and tomatoe salad and it was very good and tasty. To top it off the bread was hot, fresh, and plentiful. I ate by myself so I can not speak for "romantic" as I tend to find things less about romance when I eat by myself (imagine). However, I think it could be. There was a singer and a piano guy there and the area looks really good. It was a little loud, but no big deal. As of 3/28/07 there is construction across the street on the sidewalk, so the outside area was not open, but when it is, I am sure it is nice and the water is right there. You do have to walk through the lobby of the hotel to get to the restaurant, so if for some reason this turns you off, then you may want to stay away. You also have to walk through the parking lot, so . . . Overall, I recommend this restaurant, especially if you like beef. I despise a la carte, but that is what you get here and I can get over it. Price is a little over average, but not unheard of for a steak restaurant (25-35 per entrea).

1st off you have to walk through a hotel lobby to get to the restaurant. We got seated immediately because the place was half empty it was around 8:30 PM on a Saturday night. We ordered fairly quickly however we waited for the food way to long. I ordered the prime rib and my boyfriend ordered the filet. Please keep in mind I'm 5'2/ 108 lbs. We're waiting and the food finally comes. The prime rib was freakishly large and I was completely embarrassed to have it sitting in front of me. The waitress should have advised me that the prime rib was practically half a cow and if i still wanted to order such a thing. Serving large amounts is very bad etiquette. Isn't Shula's suppose to be as they say "undefeated"? Wrong. So i get pass the look of the meat and how it was falling off my plate and tasted it. Nothing spectacular. The sides we had were HORRIBLE! The hash browns had no taste whatsoever I think Denny's could have done a better job. The filet was okay. Ruth's Chris is way better. We're definitely not ever going back not even for a free meal.

The ambience is beautiful and the ocean view only adds to the romantic atmosphere at night. On a sunday, it can be a nice casual place to have brunch. For me though, its all about the lobster bisque. Worth every calorie!
